The self congratulatory counter motion tabled by the Government lacks any shred of credibility. Astonishingly it asks the Dail to ‘commend’ the ‘ Government’s actions over the last 10 months to stabilise our public finances’ and the ‘Government’s commitment to maintaining a pro-enterprise and competitive taxation system.’
It is this Government composed of Fianna Fail and the Greens and its Fianna Fail/PD predecessor who are directly responsible for what the Taoiseach and Government Ministers now refer to as our ‘structural deficit’. Continue reading »
