Hamas adopts PLO tactic to gain diplomatic status

In a recent speech in Qatar, Khaled Mashal, the Damascus-based political head of Hamas, called for ”weapons, money and men” so that his group, which now governs Palestine, could continue the fight against Israel. Unfortunately for him, the international community – led by the quartet of the United States, Russia, the EU and UN – is only willing to offer a new EU-led mechanism to pump much-needed humanitarian aid into Palestinian society. Response to John Couchman’s Article in the Irish Times of 22nd May 2006.  

The article written by John Couchman (22nd May 2006) on the Israeli Palestinian conflict published in the Irish Times “Rite and Reason” column was tragically wrong and lacking in reason. His eulogy to Hamas which is apparently a product of his self described “particular interest in the Palestinian Question” was remarkable not only for its perversity but also for its gross inaccuracy.  Continue reading »
