Rape trial collapses as gardai lose statements. 

A woman was allegedly raped and sexually assaulted in a Dublin City Centre home on the 25th September 2001. On Friday the 22nd October 2005, the trial of the alleged perpetrator collapsed in its second day of hearing at the Central Criminal Court.  It did so because gardai had lost four original handwritten statements of the alleged victim and essential exhibits. Why am I back in politics?

Because I want to play a role in consigning this awful government into the political wilderness,  restoring people’s faith in politics and returning Fine Gael to government.

In the election of 2002,  Fine Gael was hit by a political tsunami.   In the next election,  Fianna Fail should expect a political earthquake. Continue reading »
